As Your City Hostess, I personally welcome newcomers to Tyler and East Texas. Mary Howes, the original City Hostess, began welcoming newcomers to Tyler in 1969. Today, I continue the tradition by introducing newcomers to local businesses (we trade with every business, doctor, handyman in my welcome packet or have approved them for referral). Therefore, the customer-business connection is a positive one.
I provide "newcomers" (anyone new to the area up to two years) with a complimentary Tyler, Texas Welcome Packet full of great resources! My goals are to make newcomers feel welcome while helping them become familiar with their new community; and help newcomers before they move by providing necessary useful links to make the transition as smooth as possible.
